Program Description

The Camp on the Hill provides campers with a variety of structured and unstructured activities, and a chance to meet new friends and have fun.  A typical day starts with a morning session of individual and a group instruction in swimming, sports, arts and crafts, music, and dance.  After lunch is free choice, which always includes a free swim and two other favorite options.

Program Objectives

  • To emphasize group involvement and respect for others
  • To teach basic skills in a variety of sports, including swimming
  • To offer a wide variety of arts and crafts
  • To teach the importance of being physically fit
  • To offer a chance to view nature through outdoor activities
  • To provide a safe, friendly atmosphere where children grow socially, emotionally, and physically in a relaxed, fun manner

Typical Daily Schedule

  • 8:30-9 Arrival
  • Group Meetings/Attendance
  • Swim
  • Snack
  • Activities
  • All-you-can-eat-lunch(included in tuition)
  • Free Choice/Optional Swim
  • 1:45-2 p.m Pick-Up

Susan Blinstrub, Camp Director

Susan Blinstrub is in her 12th year as director of the Camp on the Hill.  She is fully trained in first aid and CPR, and takes annual training workshops in education and special education to stay up to date on the needs of today's children.  Her camp experience includes Fessenden Day Camp, Babson Basketball Camp, Ed Pickney Basketball Camp, and Tenacre/Dana Hall Sports Camp.  She earned a BS in education from Framingham State College.
