Babson College Professor Dhruv Grewal is the number one marketing professor out of 130 top-ranked faculty, based on a recent DocSIG study which examines the publishing history of authors and marketing departments from January 2000 through December 2007 in the top six marketing journals: Journal of Marketing, Journal of Marketing Research, Journal of Consumer Research, Marketing Science, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, and Journal of Retailing.
Grewal is Toyota Chair in Commerce and Electronic Business, and a Professor of Marketing at Babson College in Wellesley, MA.
He was also ranked 1st in the marketing field in terms of publications in the top-six marketing journals during the 1991-1998 period, in the top 2% of researchers who have published in the top-three marketing journals for the 1985-1999 period, and in the top 10% of all consumer researchers.
His areas of research include: value-based marketing, pricing, retailing, customer service, global and e-commerce.
Grewal was awarded the 2005 Lifetime Achievement in Behavioral Pricing Award (Fordham University, November 2005). He is a “Distinguished Fellow” of the Academy of Marketing Science. He has served as VP Research and Conferences American Marketing Association Academic Council (1999-2001) and as VP-Development for the Academy of Marketing Science (2000-2002). He has also coauthored Marketing Research (publisher: Houghton Mifflin Co., 2004, 2007) and Marketing (publisher McGraw-Hill). He was co-editor of Journal of Retailing (2001-2007).

Doctoral Students Special Interest Group (DocSIG) is created by and for marketing doctoral students. The organization seeks to provide a supportive and friendly environment for students of marketing to interact. It also seeks to provide opportunities in which students develop professional skills in the areas of research, writing, teaching, presenting, reviewing, consulting, and other applied activities.
