The professional excellence, intellectual curiosity, and dedication to learning about the culture, history and language of the internship countries are a credit to all of the GMP Participants who act as ambassadors of Babson across the world and add value to the organizations they work for while gaining international experience. Global Program Services is pleased to be able to recognize outstanding performance in the Global Management Program by presenting one MBA student each year with The Fairleigh S. Dickinson Jr. Foundation Global Manager Award.
The award is based on the academic merit of the student’s report, the depth and quality of his or her preparation, the nature and difficulty of the student’s assignment, and the student’s cultural adaptation to the internship country. Faculty nominations, company supervisor evaluations, the students’ own evaluations as well as the students’ interactions with Global Program Services are considered when selecting the recipient of this award which is presented at the graduation commencement ceromony.
In 2004 the award was presented to Amelia Larson M'04 for her work with Marks Spencer in London during the summer of 2003.
“Our GMP intern was asked to undertake a challenging piece of work while on placement with our organization last summer and contributed a great deal to the Project Team as well as the whole Division. In particular, I was impressed by the approach and attitude to the task and the mature way the intern dealt with many uncertainties around the scope and content of the project. This intern was a real asset to the team and an extremely good "advertisement" for Babson -- in showing the value your students can bring to a business. In summary, she has been a credit to both herself and Babson and has reset the benchmark for future interns." - Marks Spencer
