Preparation

Once a student's Global Management Program assignment is confirmed, s/he will be assigned a Faculty Advisor. The student is expected to meet as soon as possible with his or her Faculty Advisor to review the assignment, initiate communication with the sponsor company, and plan appropriate preparatory research. The student then initiates periodic meetings with the Faculty Advisor over the period preceding departure for the assignment.

Once the student is at the company site, s/he is expected to correspond with his or her Faculty Advisor concerning the progress of the internship. The student should inform the Faculty Advisor if the project parameters or objectives change or if any obstacles arise.

Deliverables

Final Report- At the end of the Global Management Program assignment, the student provides a professional-quality, written report to his or her company supervisor.

Corporate Presentation-Students usually make a presentation of their findings and conclusions to senior management of their sponsor company.

Faculty Debriefing-The student presents the final report to the Faculty Advisor, who reads the report, holds a debriefing meeting with the student in which the student defends his or her findings, and assigns a grade.

Cultural Journal-An ungraded cultural journal is also required. The student should report and reflect on cultural issues encountered in the workplace and in daily life during the assignment. The cultural journal can take the form of a weekly email update to the Faculty Advisor, a final written report, or another appropriate format determined by the Faculty Advisor.

Student Debrief Session- Students present their takeaways from their experiences to other GMP students in a debrief session.
