Babson College has made a significant commitment to women students through its pioneering Center for Women’s Leadership (CWL). For the past three years, Princeton Review ranked Babson’s MBA program #1 for “Opportunities for Women” while Babson has been rated a top college for women by CosmoGIRL and Seventeen. Center for Women’s Leadership programs, which are open to women and men, spotlight women business leaders and entrepreneurs, changing the face of leadership role models to enrich viewpoints, change aspirations, and shift expectations. Educational events include successful women entrepreneurs from companies such as Palm and New Century Brewing Company, as well as outstanding senior executives from companies such as Aetna, Fidelity, Reebok, PricewaterhouseCoopers, and Dell Inc.
Babson’s commitment to women has impacted the demographics and mix of students on the Babson campus which allows for a more diverse campus. Women's Leadership Awards provide financial support that enables select women students to more easily enroll. CWL now runs regular programming open to the campus community with typical attendance of 150 at panel events and sold-out attendance of 535 at the most recent annual women’s leadership conference. Since 2000, the Center for Women’s Leadership has brought more than 250 high-level women executives and entrepreneurs to campus. We view this as a means to change the aspirations of women attendees as well as to provide different role models for the entire audience.
The Center for Women's Leadership also offers the Women's Leadership Program. This is a cocurricular program that provides enhanced leadership development, networking, and mentoring opportunities to selected undergraduate and all graduate women.
