about us

Volunteering on campus, or providing on-site opportunities for students at your business, is one of the most significant contributions you can make. Whether you are:
  • mentoring, teaching, or helping guide students through their undergraduate or MBA experience;
  • providing career advice and opportunities;
  • or helping the admission offices attract new students;

We think you will be pleasantly surprised at the great sense of satisfaction that volunteering for Babson can bring.  Please click on any of the volunteer links on the left hand side of the page for more information.

Lupo del Bono ’79, P’09 Receives the Distinguished Service to the College Award

undefinedLupo del Bono ’79, P’09 is one of Babson’s best ambassadors, with a talent for strengthening the College’s network in Europe.

“I had an incredible time at Babson,” said del Bono, who resides in Italy. “After receiving so much from the school, I decided that I wanted to give something back. One of the ways I can give back is to help promote Babson around the world.”

This fall, del Bono received an award for his distinguished service to the College at the Alumni Leadership Recognition Dinner. Currently, he serves as chairman of the European Executive Board, a group of executives from leading European companies that offers its expertise in international business. The board serves as the College’s eyes and ears in Europe, helping to ensure that Babson’s global curriculum remains relevant, and identifying opportunities for faculty research and partnerships with local universities and businesses.

Del Bono was instrumental in establishing one such partnership between Babson and his other alma mater, Bocconi University, a leading European business school in Milan.

His latest volunteer project is organizing a major “global Babson reunion,” which will take place in Venice this October. The event, “Marco Polo: A Road to China,” will bring together College leaders and alumni from across the world to explore the influence of the Far East on Europe, and vice versa, as well as opportunities to invest in Europe and China.

Del Bono believes that the event also will fuel excitement about Babson’s global initiatives and communicate ways in which international alumni can become involved.

“Hosting these types of events is a big step forward,” del Bono said. “People want to offer their time and assistance to Babson, but they are unsure how they can make a difference. Bringing people together gets them excited about Babson and also provides a forum to communicate opportunities that exist to serve the school.”
