Student Activities

Babson College Fund- The BCF is an academic program in which specially selected students manage a portion of the Babson College endowment. The program builds students’ investment research and portfolio management skills, and offers practical experience. BCF managers are overseen by Faculty Advisor, Professor Steven Feinstein and three Executives-In-Residence.  more >>

BIMA- The Babson Investment Management Association was developed to serve two purposes: support the investment objectives of the Babson College Fund and provide educational and networking opportunities for Babson students interested in pursuing careers in the investment industry. BIMA serves largely as a resource pool composed of student research analysts that feed the money management activities of the Babson College Fund. The student managers of the BCF rely on the research generated by these students in shaping the funds portfolio. BIMA also offers periodic educational seminars conducted by professors, alumni and professionals working in the investment community. Events and meetings for the Fall 2007 semester will be held on Thursdays from 5:05pm to 6:05pm in Olin 101 unless otherwise noted. CFA Program- The Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) designation is one of the fastest growing professional credentials in the world and is a globally recognized standard for measuring the competence and integrity of investment professionals. 

Finance Immersion Program is an intensive experience for a selected group of graduate students interested in a career in Finance. Financial Management Association- The Babson Finance Division is proud to announce the chartering of a Financial Management Association chapter at Babson College. The FMA is a international network of finance professionals and undergraduate clubs. The FMA is designed to allow students to meet influential financial professionals, network for jobs and internships, and interact with other students interested in finance. This organization encompasses all areas of finance.

Investment Banking Trip- Held each fall, the Investment Banking trip is a great opportunity for juniors to learn more about the rigors of this fast-paced industry and the career opportunities available for new graduates.   more >>

iTower (Investment Tower) is a special-interest housing unit that focuses on finance and investing by exposing its members to the American and international equity markets. One of iTower’s primary purposes is to foster an environment in which students help one another on the path to a career in the finance/investing industry. 

The Stephen D. Cutler Investment Management Center is a state-of-the-art facility, that provides the online research tools used by leading investment management firms. This enables students to gain valuable practice-based experience in developing the vital skills of sophisticated financial analysis. St. Paul Travelers Case Competition- The past four years teams of Babson undergraduate students have competed for $3,000 in prizes using a finance-based case that is analyzed and presented to executives from Travelers and faculty from the Finance Division. The competition takes place at the Travelers' facilities in Hartford, CT. Following the competition, prizes are awarded and a reception is held for student participants, faculty, judges and alumni at St. Paul. The competition is sponsored by the Babson College Finance Division and The St. Paul Travelers Foundation and is supported by a generous grant from the Citigroup Foundation. For more information regarding the competition and its application process, please contact Julie Bentley.
